Masters Thesis Viva - MBA Avid













Dear Students,

Attached please find the final guideline for the submission of your thesis and viva.

Note:
1. All students must mail their soft/electronic copy of thesis is Microsoft Word format. Your file name should be your full name and student Id no.
Thesis which have been mailed in any other format, will not be accepted.

2. Thesis hard copies must be submitted to the format below (also available on the attached file):
·         One comb bound copy: to be submitted to the College reception – for the examiner
·         One perfect or hot glue bound copy: to be sent to Avid College Library (you can submit this copy to the reception along with comb bound copy).

3. The last day to submit your final thesis and any pending assignment is 25th August 2016.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR THESIS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF YOU HAVENT FOLLOWED THE GUIDELINE and IF YOU HAVE NOT SUBMITTED ALL THREE COPIES TO THE GUIDED FORMAT. No thesis or assignment can be accepted after 25th of August 2016.

4. For the students with pending presentations other than thesis, the last and final day to give your pending presentations is 13th August (Saturday) at 5pm. Students are requested to be on time. Viva voce for thesis will be held between 21st August to 3rd September. A specific date will be informed later.

Expected date of graduation: 27th September 2016. You will be informed on Graduation Ceremony process later.

AssignmentPart One: Report
Select a Public Limited Company in Maldives and create a report analysing the corporate governing practices of the organisation. Your report must critically evaluate the current practices and provide recommendations on how effective corporate governance is achieved and how it assists with the framework of rules, relationships, systems and processes within the organisation. Your report must include references to definitions, concepts, formulae as well as graphical presentations and practical examples where necessary.

Part Two: Individual PresentationYou are required to give a presentation of 8-10 minutes on the key components of your report.
Note: Avoid spending time in introducing the organisation and its values and business activities while giving your presentation.






Assessment Requirements:

The submission of your work assessment should be organized and clearly structured in a report format.

Student is required to submit a type-written document in Microsoft Word format with Times New Roman font type, size 12 and line spacing 1.5.

Indicate the sources of information and literature review by including all the necessary citations and references adopting the Harvard Referencing System.

Students who have been found to have committed acts of Plagiarism are automatically considered to have failed the entire module. If found to have breached the regulation for the second time, you will be asked to leave the course.

Plagiarism involves taking someone else’s words, thoughts, ideas or essays from online essay banks and trying to pass them off as your own. It is a form of cheating which is taken very seriously.

What is the status of e-business in Maldives today and what needs to be done for the future?

What are the challenges and/or impediments for e-business development in Maldives? Discuss at least 3 of them in detail.

Create a virtual (hypothetical) e-business and explain the required planning, implementation and control strategies and procedures from inception until establishment.

Dear Students,

Attached please find your Assignment for the module e-Business Management. If you wish to set a date to discuss your assignment, please inform me a date after discussing among yourselves. (Class rep can let me know a date at least 3 days prior, so that I could check the lecturer’s availability). An extra class of e-Business Management will be held on 12th March (Saturday) from 10 am onwards.

Please also note that Presentations for both the modules; e-Business Management and Electives are on 23rd April. Hence, you are required to mail both the presentations on or before 22nd April (Friday), 11:30 pm. Also note that if the groups fail to mail the ppts on due time, all groups members will be penalized with a deduction of 5%.  A separate group for Elective Modules will be formed once you come for the module.

Presentations of e-Business Management will be conducted on Saturday (23rd April) from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Students must be present 15 minutes prior to their presentation time. (Please note yourelective modules classes will commence at 2 pm on Saturday) and Elective modules presentation will be held during class hours from Sunday to Tuesday. Following is the order and schedule of your presentations.
